Whatever motivator you use the process will be the same that is encouraging the dog to go after the object you want him to fetch, and then reward him when he grabs it and again takes the object away. You may want to repeat this a few times.

Encourage Your Dog to Chase Even More

Try to hold her after throwing the object to encourage your dog to chase even more, and your dog will naturally tug against you. Your dog will go after the object like a rocket when you let him go.

The next step is getting your dog to bring back the item to you. You can choose a second toy if your dog doesn’t bring back the toy to you. Your dog will probably leave the first toy and will get the second one and might have an idea that it will run back to you.
